ISO 9001:2008 applies to all types of organizations.  It doesn't matter what size they are or what they do.  It can help both product and service oriented organizations achieve standards of quality that are recognized and respected throughout the world.

Why is ISO important?

There are 3 concepts to ISO 9001:2008 that make this program important and effective:

  • Continuous improvement.  ISO 9001:2008 is clearly based on the continuous improvement cycle: plan, do, check and act. There are specific requirements for gathering data (measurements), analysis of this data and improvement.
